Daddy, Live with Life!

A couple of years ago, I was discussing with my 4-year-old daughter the importance of just letting things be the way they are and that frustration or crying would not do her any good.  She looked at me with those innocent eyes in all seriousness and summarized in her own words, “We just have to live with life.”  It was not two months later that I was discussing finding the fun in the things we do and bringing our full attention and energy to any given situation.  She again paused and mused, “We need to live with life.”   Leave it to a 4-year-old to guide us to understanding what I’ve been struggling to put words to for years.

In general, life by it’s very nature is an open system continually changing and evolving.  We can accept change, adopt with it, or not.  Not accepting change is to disassociate with the natural unfolding of events going on around us.  On a personal level, life is the spirit and energy we bring to each and every moment.  Every breath brings us life and with every breath we can do something with our life or not.  When we choose to do something with our lives, we establish intent.  To manifest this intent we have to lead ourselves to the things necessary to make it happen.  This intent becomes embedded into the fabric of our lives setting up the conditions we can find ourselves thriving all the while rolling with the changes.

“To finish the moment, to find the journey’s end in every step of the road, to live the greatest number of good hours, is wisdom.”
