Feed Your Brain

It is up to us to feed our brains and there is a plethora of information, stories, experiences and distractions available to us.  Just as we feed our bodies with the food we eat we feed our minds with those things we focus on. The ideas we consume add to our mental models thereby enabling us to make changes or reinforce our present mental cages. We consume for growth, comfort, entertainment, and fuel for our independence as well as our interdependence.

Our choices of what we consume directly affects the our biz.  What we choose to ingest mentally affects our thinking about our interactions with others, our relationships, goal setting and daily activities.  If we absorb mindless non-challenging information, we trod along the path we are on without any real change.  If we absorb information about how our habits and mental models affect our decisions and behavior we will enable ourselves to make decisions improving our situation.  If we know what we want to do with our lives, consuming information and experiences related to that end state will better enable us to be successful in our pursuits.  If we don’t know what we want to do, but only have a vague notion, then it is up to us to consume information related even indirectly with our imagination of what we would like to be.  The information we absorb on a daily basis will either allow us to continually improve or keep us in our comfort zone.   Our ability to adapt and evolve in our personal lives is directly related to the information we gobble up which includes the circles of family, friends, acquaintances, and coworkers.

When you are going about your business in life and your myriad interactions, ask yourself, “Am I feeding myself in a way that supports where I’m going, what I’m doing, or what I want to be?”  “Is this right for me?”

Is this right
It’s up to us to make sure our experiences and information we take in support what we want out of life.
